Project Overview

Spectrum Painting & Restorations Ltd. was engaged to complete interior and exterior coating and finishing scopes throughout the Aberdeen Square Expansion, a 240,000 sq. ft. mixed-use building with strata retail and office space tying into the existing Aberdeen Centre mall, below-grade and rooftop parkade, and the Canada Line Aberdeen Station. The six-storey concrete and steel structure features a high-end food court on the third level, over 200 commercial retail units across the lower three floors, more than 100 office units on levels four to six, and a spectacular three-storey atrium at the main entrance. Spectrum’s scope included architectural coatings to interior walls, ceilings, and common areas, high-performance sprayed specialty coatings on select durable surfaces, coating of high-traffic retail and public circulation areas, and exterior coating of select building components. Delivered within a multi-trade, fast-paced construction environment and coordinated around ongoing operations and tenant improvements, the work achieved consistent, high-end finishes across expansive and highly visible public areas, in accordance with project specifications and manufacturer requirements.
