District of Squamish WWTP & Dog Pound — Building Envelope Remediation

Spectrum Painting & Restorations Ltd. was engaged by IRC Building Sciences and the District of Squamish to complete a multi-facility painting and building envelope maintenance program across several municipal facilities, including the Dog Pound Building, the Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) facilities, and the Control Building. The scope spanned exterior surface preparation, pressure washing, exterior repainting, CMU mortar repairs, sealant removal and replacement around windows, doors, vents, flashings, and wall penetrations, as well as interior repainting modifications within the Control Building. Working closely with IRC Building Sciences throughout, Spectrum helped identify deteriorated envelope components — including extensive sealant deterioration, deep cavities without backer rod, and hidden voids behind window assemblies at WWTP Building A — and implemented repair solutions prioritizing long-term weather resistance and durability over simply replacing visible failures. Delivered within an active municipal environment, the project reflects Spectrum’s strength in deficiency identification, practical field solutions, and consultant-driven restoration across varied building conditions.

Scope
