Surrey Biofuel Facility

Spectrum Painting & Restorations Ltd. was engaged to provide industrial and commercial coating services for the construction of the Surrey Biofuel Facility, one of the largest organic waste processing and renewable natural gas facilities built in Canada. The approximately 150,000 sq. ft. processing facility, situated on a 6.6-acre site, was designed to process roughly 115,000 tonnes of organic waste annually and convert it into renewable natural gas and high-quality compost. Spectrum’s work involved surface preparation and application of protective coating systems to structural and process-related components throughout the facility — including areas subject to moisture, chemical exposure, and demanding operating conditions. Working within an active construction management environment alongside multiple trades, Spectrum sequenced coating activities around ongoing installation of process equipment, mechanical systems, and structural steel, delivering durable coating systems through disciplined planning and a structured QA/QC process.
